I once read a book entitled "Things Fall Apart." That title may be applied to Fresh Market of late!I live in Owensboro KY and trek to the Evansville store on average every 10-14 days.
I moved to Owensboro from New York in 2007 and quickly found Fresh Market and have continued as a customer since then. But something is fishy. The butchers who used to know their trade seem to be nowhere in sight! The young kids behind the counter can't even wrap your purchase properly!
And have suppliers been changed? The *** roast i bought was tough; the salad greens are ready to expire, and the deli salads are just "different,". I just happened to be in the store several years ago when a group of "suits" was walking around. I joked with them about opening a store in Owensboro.
Shortly after that the guys in the meat department were laughing when i questioned why all the meat was rearranged - beef and chicken changed places - like musical chairs. In a conversation with my sister (who works in a corporate environmet) she insisted such things are the result of research . Me - i may just look around for a different place to shop. It just ain't the Fresh Market i remember.
Maybe the Berries need to extract it from the corporate mold!!Patricia McKeegan Owensboro KY
